Development of the Web Site Matrix:
The web site has been reconstructed to
split out the major components of the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
Click on "The
CEF Organization" here or in the menu bar to begin
with the organization of the CEF, which looks at both the Army
Corps and the Army
Troops.
A Site
Index has now been added so you can move quickly to your final
destination if you are not "just browsing". The
site index is also accessible from the footer links on
every page of the web site.

Development of the War Diary Transcripts:
Extracted war diary listings from Library and Archives
Canada, as prepared by Michael Thierens using the program
developed by Marc Leroux, are being sorted and filed on each
specific unit page. This is a "work in progress"
and is discussed in detail in the War
Diaries User Group page on the CEFSG Forum.
Also now noted on the site are the units for which a member or
members of the CEFSG are working (IP
- in progress) on war diary transcripts, thanks to Michael Thierens recent listing. Links to
that Library and Archive War Diaries (WD Link) have now been
added to the individual pages, in addition to being present on the
summary table.

Development of the Matrix Utilities:
The Matrix
Utilities is a separate component of the overall matrix
and provides a number of useful tools to make your visit to the
matrix more enlightening. At present you will find
utilities that allow you to register for site notifications, the
navigation chart to guide you on your way, a summary table of
all the CEF Battalions, the most comprehensive list of Great War
web site links, an extensive listing of abbreviations and
acronyms, access to the ORBAT information, and the master pages
for web site submissions. Each of these are described in
detail on the main utility page.

Other Comments:
For those interested in the perpetuation of the CEF after World War
One, the Regimental
Rogue has kindly offered the information that he has prepared that
describes the perpetuation of the CEF World War One Units (i.e.
what they became at the end of the war and what they are known
as today). Perpetuation
