Rolls of Honour
In response to a request to have a place
to store "Rolls of Honour", this Matrix Utility is
being created. By true definition, as I understand it, there is a
difference in the title of the Rolls as follows:
 | Roll of Honour: the soldier paid the
ultimate sacrifice in the Great War |
 | Roll of Service: the soldier survived
the war |
I have left the title to this utility as
Roll of Honour as that appears to be the common terminology used when
researchers are looking for this information.
There is a topic now on the CEFSG
Matrix Forum, as well as the main section in the CEFSG
Main Forum.
I personally have two such documents, one
for each of my grandfathers and so I can do look-ups for anyone in each
of those:
 | University of Toronto Roll of Service
1914-1918 |
 | The Canadian Bank of Commerce Letters
from the Front 1914-1919 (Vol. 2 0nly) |
The following links are known and will be
updated as additional information is made available:
Rolls of Honour or Rolls of Service that have been
scanned and uploaded by CEFSG members will appear on the shared
MediaFire site under "N6
Honour Rolls / Rolls of Service". I have not included
communities at this time as the list would be massive! For those
community listings please refer to the National
Inventory of Canadian Military Memorials hosted by DND.
The following are currently listed on the
CEFSG Forum Rolls
of Honour Posting. If you have others in your collection or know
where they are located, please post that to the CEFSG topic and I will
add it to this list: (copied to WORD and then other columns deleted)
