NOTES

  1. In March 1918 there was a significant reorganization of the Brigade level "Machine Gun Companies" into Divisional level "Machine Gun Battalions:
    1st, 2nd, 3rd and 13th (joined January 1917) M.G. Coys reorganized as 1st Canadian Machine Gun Battalion
    4th, 5th, 6th and 14th (joined February 1917) M.G. Coys reorganized as 2nd Canadian Machine Gun Battalion
    7th, 8th and 9th M.G. Coys reorganized as 3rd Canadian Machine Gun Battalion
    10th, 11th and 12th M.G. Coys reorganized as 4th Canadian Machine Gun Battalion
  2. The 5th Division was broken up in England in February 1918.
  3. The Siberia and North Russia Force was mobilized in October 1918 and served until June 1919
