Began recruiting in Lethbridge in early 1916.


C.O. Captain C.H. Collinson with lieutenants A.G. Virtue, A.G. Oliver & G. S. Raley. 
Had no trouble recruiting and was mobilized February 26, 1916. The Battery Moved to Petawawa Ontario in late May of 1916.  September of 1916 shipped to Liverpool on the SS Cameronia then proceed to Camp Witley where they arrived on September 23, 1916. 
Spent about a year training in England then proceeded to France on August 21,1917 under command of Major G. S. Brown with a complement of 195 men all ranks.
