Background:

An initial review of the 198th War Diary suggested the Battalion had participated as an "opposing force" in a series of war games.

Bruce (19th Battalion) informs us that he did a little bit of digging in the 198th Battalion War Diary and found that they were assigned to 5th Division, 15th Brigade on 10 May, 1917. This is consistent with the date generally given for the disbandment of the 199th Battalion as 11 May, 1917. As such, the entry for the 15th Brigade needs to be updated to show the 199th Battalion being disbanded in May 1917, and the 198th Battalion taking its place concurrently.
